Alexandra Suarez was born into a Colombian family divided by political ideology. Her mother's side belongs to the conservative right party with several high ranking military officials in the family. Her father's side belongs to the liberal left party and was integral to the formation of the leftist groups in the Seventies. Because of her upbringing, politics and religion are essential to her work.
She has spent her whole life living in both Colombia and the United States which has extremely broadened her view of the world and increased her awareness of social injustice. Her approach to her work is completely humanistic and is an ongoing questioning of our nature and our purpose as human beings.
She started her creative expression as a Fashion Designer for several years in Los Angeles and then decided to follow in the footsteps of her father and pursue an art career which has been met with much success and positive feedback. She has been selected to participate in many art exhibitions around the United States, has been featured in Art and Collector magazines and is constantly working towards the expansion of her career and the development of her artistic expression.
In 2005 she decided to leave everything behind and move to Miami where she has found new inspiration and a new approach to her work. In her words "Life is too short to let it pass by."
